Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 14, 2026
This page explains the cookies and similar browser storage that RemoteWorkers.online uses. We use the minimum needed to keep you signed in and to operate the site — we don't use advertising cookies or third-party marketing trackers.
Plain-English summary: we set one cookie to remember your session (so you stay logged in) and use your browser's local storage to remember your light/dark theme preference. That's it. No ads. No retargeting. No analytics SDKs.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. They let the site recognise you when you come back, remember preferences, and keep you signed in. Local storage and session storage work similarly but stay only on your device.
2. What we use
| Cookie / storage | Purpose | Lifetime | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| authjs.session-token | Keeps you signed in after login | 30 days (renewed on activity) | Strictly necessary |
| authjs.csrf-token | Prevents cross-site request forgery on auth endpoints | Session | Strictly necessary |
| authjs.callback-url | Returns you to where you were after sign-in | Session | Strictly necessary |
| theme (localStorage) | Remembers your light / dark / system preference | Until cleared | Preference |
3. What we don't use
- Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or any product analytics SDK
- Meta Pixel, Twitter/X Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, TikTok Pixel
- Ad-network cookies, retargeting pixels, or affiliate trackers
- Session replay tools (FullStory, Hotjar, etc.)
- Cross-site tracking of any kind
We may add a privacy-respecting analytics tool in the future (such as Plausible or Fathom, which do not use cookies and do not track individual users). If we do, we will update this page first.
4. How to control or block cookies
5. Changes
We'll update this page if we add or remove cookies. Material changes are announced 14 days in advance via email to registered users.
